That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I think I could swing it though. What time?

Kristin, I'm off work at 5:30, and the show starts at 7:30, so 5:30 or 6 would work best for me. What say you? Also, PUPPY!

I love dropping into Natter on a day when everyone is sharing pet pictures. Totally makes my day. I just got back from my first performance review at this job. It went really well, and yet I still feel kind of down. What's up with that? We discussed some of my concerns, I got many accolades and a few gentle reminders. I should be happier about this than I am, but I still can't stifle the part of me that wants to hear nothing but "You're WONDERFUL and AMAZING! Nobody else is half as good as you! You're the best employee we've ever had! Have a 50% raise!"

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

My fave pizza that I haven't had in yonks would be Round Table Pizza's gourmet veggie. Everyone dug it in college.

Artichoke hearts, zucchini, spinach, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, red & green onions, Italian herb seasoning, and lots of chopped garlic. Baked with a blend of 3 cheeses on our Creamy Garlic Sauce.

It's actually impossible to find chicago deep dish here, but I prefer it to thin crust.

She does not understand why we won't let her do what she wants if she sits first.

This is true of toddlers too....

What is even happening?

But Cindy, it would still be broccoli. Brocooli is a vegetation abomination (which fwiw, would make a great band name).

Oh, yeah, if you don't like broccoli, I suppose that wouldn't go down so well.

Cashmere, your animals are beautiful. You need a picture of Owen in the middle of them. Will the cat go near Owen?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This is true of toddlers too....

"But I said 'Please, can I play with matches'."

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

ita's brain. Otherwise she'll just go and dirty us up again.

And usually I bless her for it.

bon bon, there's actually a Chicago deep-dish pizzeria in lower Manhattan. Not great, but passable.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Cashmere, your animals are beautiful. You need a picture of Owen in the middle of them. Will the cat go near Owen?

Mac avoids him, if she can (she's had too many fur pulls). Sam adores him and loves to sniff his head. The cat jumps up in the rocker with us every single morning to remind us that he needs fed. Owen loves this and is very gentle with him.

My best chance at getting a picture of all four of them is when O's eating. The cat perches on the edge of the table as close to the high chair as he can get while the dogs sit underneath waiting for their pieces to fall. Every meal is an event.

Owen tends to laugh out loud when they come near him.
