I'd love to read more.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm up to 4800 words now. It's getting real. Of course, Amy could beat it all to hell, but that's what's poured from my head so far.

Because books.

I'm being helpful and encouraging! Or I will be tomorrow.

I reread so much old beloved fic tonight, my head is swimming.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

5875 words. It's still missing a beginning and an end, but I think it's a good "start" if you get my meaning. Amy's been very nice so far, but I think she's going to throw down the gauntlet tomorrow. And part of it is out to my sister for translation into patois, since she mocked me.

Maybe some more putzing before bed.

Huh. Castiel just made it into my story. I truly wasn't expecting that to happen. But suddenly it seemed convenient.

When is too much research really too much? My sister, initially unhelpful, has emailed me about 30 pages on Obeah. She's not into SPN, but she is into Jamaica, so she's interested now.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Wow, that's a lot of pages!

I suppose there's no harm done if you read them, absorb it, and then pick and choose what is relevant. I'd say it's only too much if you try to pack it all in to the fic. In which case, you have a nice palate to work from? If you have the whole scope of a thing, you can shape and manipulate it to work in your story, as opposed to being left to grasp at straws.
