I was presuming it was something like that, but just wanted to check - thanks. I checked in today and all I could find was a topic going on about how much Adam hates the UK because he cancelled a convention appearance here..
'Serenity'
Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.
I'm pretty sure that thread was started out of frustration and was mostly tongue in cheek.
Adam cancels on just as many US conventions for work and he does UK ones.
Yeah, I just presumed it was somebody being an idiot. He's a regular on Chuck - he ain't flyin' nowhere till that's canceled.
I think this one may actually stick around. He might be only doing LA cons for a while. I think Adam is ready to move on from the whole Serenifly thing. He has said that he was more than once.
On a recent podcast his words were, "It's over. Move on."
I bet those words didn't make it to Fireflyfans.net
The cast contracts have expired now I think with Universal, so it's pretty much dead as anything. Unless they do Kaylee In Space DVDs or somesuch, I suppose. Which, of course, I'd buy.
Kaylee in Space: After Dark ?
FFF is where the rabid ones live. I don't venture there. This whole cast contract thing is ridiculous. People act like they actually know what was written in the contracts. They don't. It is asinine.

Well, I've not seen the actual debate on it, but doesn't seem that ridiculous to me in principle. Everybody knows the contracts are a limited time deal because the actors went on about it, and everybody knows they've expired cause the actors went on about it. So if they wanted to make a sequel, there would be renegoiation. Which is why Joss said he's not sure all the cast would actually do a sequel as part of the Serenity Collectors Edition promotion.
People were quoting actual dates and deal terms like they had read the contracts. The only info on the contracts were one or two offhand comments from the cast (who probably hadn't read their own contracts).
Well, the original source of the contract 'date' thing was an offhand comment from Sean Maher. So I see your point there, needless to say.
