People will die of shock: Booster Events are closing their website. They failed to offer any refunds, and the police investigating them say they're not co-operating. They appear to be keeping the business open, doing nothing.
Tamara wins all for spotting (and saying) they are muppets long ago.
police investigating them say they're not co-operating
Ack. That doesn't sound good. What a mess.
I do have to admit, had I paid money to such a scheme the above notice and the thought of how much trouble failing to cooperate with a police investigation is going to earn the perpetrators down the line would be some small consolation.
Seeing how their customer base didn't actually have the power to throw their asses in jail in response to being stonewalled and lied to, unlike the police. Actually, since the way things shook out may involve mail fraud across state lines, the feds could get involved at some point.
I had to stop watching the train wreck, after I saw people who'd purchased tickets from BE for Neptune Noir trying to hold out hope it might still come off, somehow.
Tamara wins
I love winning, but I think I was just drafting off of Allyson.
Allyson wins too. I'm not sure what you win. I'll make a badge at some point.
One of the lifetime pass holders is actually a police officer, it turns out.
Yeah, I actually laughed out loud when I heard. I generally try not to scam $5000 from police officers.
Ooooh. That's gonna leave a mark.
1. Today is the day I acquired both the Serenity and the Firefly DVDs.
2. My sweet baboo rocks like a rocking thing. Or perhaps a roc.
ETA: Technically, this happened yesterday, as it is forty-six minutes past midnight here. But I believe that today isn't tomorrow until after I've gone to bed.
