Not actually related to all our talk of fair use, but.... I was trying to look for actual licenced Firefly/Serenity merchandise, and I can't seem to find any. Would anyone have a suggestion of where I should look?
Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Babylon 5 made WB a fortune on DVD. How do I know this? JMS once posted the sales figures online - which, by the way, is not a way to make friends.
It'll be interesting to see if they do online distribution on iTunes with the B5 thing. If they get the word out, I imagine they'll make a mint from it. I just checked and JMS said the B5 DVDs made over $500m for Warners.
Thanks for the link, Kevin. Does Universal not have an online swag store, like for instance New Line does?
Nah. Well, they do, but it's got two things on it - Serenity DVD and HD-DVD. Which is, of course, a bit crap.
That means if I find the type of item I'm looking for, I'll have to buy it from a non-official site. Shame, that.
Yep, Universal don't sell anything officially licensed directly.
The Nintendo Wii provides the capability for owners to create avatars which can then be used in games, or sent to their friends machines. There are some familiar faces: [link]

....The second documentary, "Done the Impossible: The Fans' Tale of Firefly & Serenity," tells how loyal followers of the "Firefly" TV series, called browncoats, saved the day after Fox cut the cult favorite in 2002 after just 11 episodes. They used the Internet and e-mail campaigns to stoke protest and even took out an ad in Daily Variety to pressure Fox.
Ultimately, creator Joss Whedon, of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fame, took the project to Universal Studios and made a full-length feature film, "Serenity," which tied up "Firefly's" major plot points.
"Done the Impossible" is the story, told by the show's stars, fans and Whedon himself, of how the canceled TV series became a (modestly) successful movie.
"I'm Allyson B________, and I endorse this documentary!
Okay, not really."
Anyone seen the video for Muse's "Knights of Cydonia"? Looks like the person who came up with it, is a Firefly fan...at least, that's what I'm telling myself. :)
You can probably see it on YouTube or similar, or you can check it out at the official Muse website using the media player in the bottom right corner. [link]
