I wonder if that's why it's shipping early. (It wasn't scheduled to come out 'til next week.)
In most cases, street dates for books aren't a certainty, although Tuesdays are generally the new release day for those books that have a strict-on-sale date. The Firefly companion started trickling into warehouses two weeks ago, and I got mine this past week.
I was in the front row at the Hugo Award ceremonies at LA Con IV and I realized my little camera had a Quick Time "movie mode." I was able to capture JW's acceptance speech as read by Morena. Here it is.
(Am I imagining it, or has something about the You Tube process put the audio out of sync?)
Thanks for sharing that Mikey. Great speech.

No, Morena was half-way off the stage but her voice was still saying the final words. Serious out-of-sync problem. Didn't detract from the joy of seeing it, though.
There're a couple of fanvids up on the same page at YouTube. "Peace" is a Zoe and Mal-centric one that's not bad. Didn't have time to check the others. The River Tam interviews are also up on YouTube, for those who haven't seen them, or would like to see them again.

Youtube apparently consistently puts audio out of sync with the video. Which is one of several reasons why many vidders don't want their vids on Youtube.
speaking of YouTube...
This is fun ... [link]
A "trailer" for the as-yet, untitled Buffy/Angel/Firefly movie :)
I'd TOTALLY watch that movie. That should be the Buffyverse film. Okay, so we'd have to handwave some folks back to life. It's not like that's new.
My friend just finished watching the Firefly DVDs. IM'd me to say, "Dammit! Now I wish there were more! You need to feel guilty for getting me hooked on this when it's over so fast!
Oh, and I just bought Serenity."
So that's nice.
Meant to mention ages ago: we picked up a copy of EzyDVD's exclusive tin version of Serenity. The front of the tin is unfettered with quotes, or ratings and content warnings, so is well worth getting, even if you already have a copy, and even if you can't play a region 4 PAL dvd.
Oh and they've also got a Firefly tin coming at the end of this month: [link]
