I think that's because I stayed out of it.
It's the entire argument that makes me crazy.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Well, The One True B!x (I still don't get that nickname) has a point, I think. His thing is about, you know, charity. Which, if your aim is to make people take note, is an interesting side effect. Mass buying DVDs, I don't really see working - if the fan base wasn't big enough to open it at theatres, the online fan forum base won't be big enough to make a dent in online profits, and I can't see the fact it happening getting acknowledged outside the fan base.
The fact the people who collected Paypal money the other month are in this months Wired print magazine is curious.
I think sticking my head in the sand is going to be the best route to sanity.

Hey, Windsparrow!
The tag comes from a friend, he overheard an obnoxious tourist in Greece mangling "kalimera" into "kalamari" and corrected her.
Cephalopodophilia spreads! Like a cloud of ink! My mission here is over!
Sing it with me... "What the world needs now, is cephalopods, sweet cephalopods...."
Ok that doesn't work. Nevermind.

In my mind, he sounds Just Like Giles.
Except for the last time I read it, because a little John Cleese is starting to slip in there.
I knew that there was a reason I gave up on (other) Firefly sites after the BDM. I'm just a tad curious, but not enough to go look.
Except that I doubt any fan of Firefly can possibly be as nastily brilliant as House.
I think that some come mighty close. Not that it does any good.
I saw an ad for Serenity on pay-per-view last night. Too bad the ads for the theatrical release weren't half as good. Or rather, too bad that they were half as good.
This post sounds all bitter and cynical. I'm really not either one most of the time.
With my luck, I'm going to decide to go back to reading other Firefly sites next week, and they'll point to the previous post and say, "Away with thee, heathen!"
Can you believe I haven't even been drinking? Posting tired seems to be almost as bad. Huh.
Wait, are you a heathen, in this plan, because you gave up on the other sites, or because you are cynical and stuff about pay-per-view commercials as weighed against movie commercials?
Because I gave up other sites? Or, possibly because my brain is fried.
It would be more fun if your brain were fried squid.
Sorry, I don't know why I felt the need to say that.
