GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I made the mistake of putting Serenity on my Christmas list. So I have to wait and see if I get it before I can by it.

I noticed Serenity was nowhere on my dad's Christmas list. Wisdom coming with age and all that.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

One of my coworkers bought the combo set for herself and told her fiancee I and another coworker gave it to her for Christmas. Heh.

I couldn't resist picking it up at Costco while I was shopping yesterday. I still want to get the FF and Serenity soundtracks.

I can't even.

If I get Serenity for Christmas, well, there's a copy I can use to addict some poor (schmo) deserving friend I haven't reached yet.

Yeah, that's exactly how I justified my purchase.

Also, I now have a Serenity keychain from my Secret Santa, who is Teppy! I love it!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

It was at WalMart for $20 (it's been *years* since I've been inside a WalMart) so now I get the DVD PLUS I get credit for gifting it to Bob first.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Has anyone had problems with the audio mix for Serenity, as if the spoken track is mixed lower than the music tracks?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No.

This is a shot in the dark, but perhaps you're watching in mono or stereo, but the DVD is playing in surround sound? (this should be an option on the DVD itself.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I got both the Serenity and the Firefly soundtrack cds for Christmas. DH and I listened to Firefly on the drives yesterday, and I teared up in a couple of places, and just generally loved hearing it all again. StE stayed over with us again last night, and we introduced him to Firefly on dvd--he'd never seen it. He loves it, and while I'm out visiting today, more episodes may be watched. The Serenity dvd should arrive sometime this week, so StE may be back, heh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of the guys I lent FF to floated the idea about reintegrating vets (especially ones called upon to do truly hard core things) into society, and said he thought the Alliance used the Shepherdhood to deprogram people like Book, and it's where they'd have sent a decommissioned Operative if he hadn't bolted instead.

And then he gave me a depressing assed talk about the problems of vets coming home, including a pretty bitter PoV of the guys in charge hoping most vets get killed off, because reintegration was so dangerous for the battlescarred.

Still, I like the idea of a deprogramming facility for stone killers.
