I just attended the South Bay's last showing of Serenity. (Pretty good sized crowd for 10:20pm on a weeknight--would've been pretty good sized for 7pm.) While watching the movie (or should I be typing The Movie?) I remembered Joss mentioned in his recent post on buffistas.org that the upcoming Serenity comic would be from the show, and it struck me that everybody in Serenity knew about Mr. Universe, and we in the audience didn't. Could this be the story that introduces Mr. Universe? Just wondering.
Edited to add: One more thing. This was at a first run house--$10.00 admission.
Eugene misses you too, Tamara.
Um...topic? Nope, I got nothin'.
We got our friends in MI hooked on Firefly.
He just called me asking if I knew of a site with the "chinese" translations on it.

A polyphony on being a Browncoat:

Gus! Whyfor have you not yet seen TBDM?
Bev, I have not seen TBDM for two reasons: 1) Movie theatres suck. 2)
OK, I don't have a good #2.
Movie theatres are dead to me. The sound and rendering in them compares unfavorably to my home rig.
Setting aside my special circumstances, the drive to a theatre is a hassle.
Hey! I'm willing to send Joss and the cast whatever percentage of the gross that actually reaches their pocket. I am even willing to toss some money toward the (stylish, yet, you know ...
classy
) Suits at Uni.

Wish I could say that too. Actually, I find the sound at most of my local theatres satisfying. Especially the loud and undistorted, and the soft and nigh hiss-free.
A properly equipped THX-compliant theater is usually pretty good, but that's 15-year-old tech now...
