Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

One does not repost private correspondence in a public arena.

If this were actually what had happened, it would also likely be illegal as a breach of copyright, although it doesn't look like this is exactly what happened. Um, 'cause I know everyone here cares deeply about copyright.

Poor Kevin, just seems to step on one toe after another here.

the copyright freak is going to another thread now...

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I should point out, by the way, I didn't actually mention the email. I very very vaguely mentioned the concept.

FWIW, as someone who has (had) no idea what the what was, it wasn't Kevin's post that made it clear there was a backchannel kerfuffle. When you don't want or feel it's appropriate to respond to something, not responding is an option.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

When you don't want or feel it's appropriate to respond to something, not responding is an option.

Correct. The thinking before posting rule disconnected in my head.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Browncoats,

SERENITY finished it's 4th week with a box office tally of $2,948,411. For its 4th week, it did $222,294, which was 47% off the previous week's total. SERENITY will cross the $3 million mark this weekend in Australia.

Not bad, considering there's only 20 million folks in Oz.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So what are the total box office numbers for Serenity. Did it make its budget back and a little more?

Tagline? What tagline?

It looks like it's made a shade over 33 million so far according to this site.

Dang. Well, they'll recoup the rest in DVD sales. I was pretty sure it'd hit 40 mil.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I was hoping to see it again in the theater, but life interrupted and now it's gone.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Kevin, I would quote them back to you right now
but, since it's an email, I feel that would be a
breach of netiquette. You may disagree.

The related person has seen this topic. As suspected he didn't want an announcement posting, but was okay with discussion of the concept.

Which wouldn't really surprise me since we seem to
have very different definitions of what qualifies
as "appallingly rude."

I find it amazing how needlessly hostile this all became. Hello? Person here.
