Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Well, I figure party games when you're 15 isn't really much to kiss and tell about.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

SailAweigh, if you lived in my neck of the woods, at 15 you'd kiss and tell the story with a baby. I live in the posh part of town.

Kevin, it speaks more for my naivite at 15 than anything else. My next door neighbor got pregnant at 15, but not from party games.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The best I have is dancing with Joss and Nathan to Greendays American Idiot. In his socks.

I have been vaguely following this kerfufflet all day and I have one question.

Whose socks?

In actual FF news, someone mentioned elsewhere that SciFi was showing "Heart of Gold" tonight. It made me realize that I never watched the episode. I'm not sure why.

Was it universally despised and maybe I skipped it because of that?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't know about universally-- I thought it had some good parts, especially nice Zoe/Wash moments-- but it was a weaker ep.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I can't believe you've never seen it, Kristen. I didn't hate it, for what that is worth (especially as I have been saying it every day during my 3 day meeting when asked what I thought about the lessons being presented.) I think it did have Melinda Clarke though.

Reading Nilly's review (and getting sniffly through some of it) made me go see Serenity for the second time tonight. It was much much better than my first viewing. And I loved it on my first viewing.

Kuffles of whatever strength are why I try to avoid being in a fandom.

I have no idea to this day how or why I ever clicked over to Table Talk and found the Buffistas - but I did. And I kind of couldn't believe it because I had never had the kind of love for any form of entertainment that I had for Buffy and was even more surprised that other people did, and that's why I am here. Ninety-nine percent of the time, the kerfuffles freak me right out. And then I talk to my best friend who is a HUGE Firefly fan but is very practical, gruff and often insensitive generally, and she tells me to quit hounding her about seeing Serenity, that it is really "insignificant" comapred to what else is going on in her life right now, and I actually get pissed off at her for about 45 minutes over that. And then I realize - whatever - it's her life. But when that happens I suddenly totally understand the kerfuffles.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Melinda Clarke was really good in this.
