Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

So, it turns out all my fascinated reading of Harlequin romances as a 14 year old didn't teach me that particular word of vernacular. I knew they were too prissy for my own good!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Huh. I didn't realize bonking, as in sex, was British. I guess I'm bilingual.

Hm. I use "boink" in regards to sex, but never "bonk." The second is strictly an act of hitting, no sex involved. Now I have to wonder if this is one of those regional differences, etc. that we can run into here in the States. Or, it might even be a "me" thing. I may have to ask some coworkers next week. Survey says!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So, Kevin, if someone upthread had said, "Shut the fuck up. Your defensiveness is working against you!" that would have been better?

Hey, now, Kev. I never used the word 'fuck'. Would I do that? Would I use a swear?

DCJensen - Oct 21, 2005 4:11:49 pm PDT #6930 of 10001
All is well that ends in pizza.

So.. "I'll be in my boink" wouldn't work?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Jars - quite true. I figure you'd never swear. Hee.

Kat - if, for example, you'd said that I'd be like 'Uhm, that's really rude'. Because I don't know you. But that's just me.

It looks like UIP are deciding to release Serenity straight to DVD in a few of the international locations. Don't know how many yet. This is going to effect the international take of the movie, and it could be a pretty big nail in the coffin.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm so sad. I miss the lines. I want all the lines.

That is, Serenity. I'm sure the above can have all sorts of negative connotations, but I'm square and tired and can't think of any right now.

For this movie, I will buy early and late DVDs. Early, for want. now. Late for extras.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Serenity opened in town here today.

Might have to see it a third time, with much less gasoline involved.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Extras on the first DVD is about 40 minutes, libkitty, so it's not too bad. Joss commentary. I'm rolling out a website for it in two weeks. And you've got to love a feature on the Oaty Bar.

I'd like to see a second edition with a cast commentary, and one with Lisa, Joss, Jack Green and David Newman together. I likes me some commentaries. Universal also shot a film about the fans (yes, Browncoats) which I presume will go out 2nd time around. There was a bit of debate about putting my complete unfinished docuthing on the region 2 DVDs, but given the script for the voiceovers and presenting says things like "Firefly: a television flop" and "Despite popular myth, fans didn't campaign for a motion picture", I don't think that'll get signed off -- it's not quite in line with the cute marketing angle.
