Inara: I think she looks adorable. Mal: Yeah, but I never said it.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

What is So Cal's Leisure World?

Well, there's apparently more than one, but it's a big retirement community. It always cracked me up as a name. Leisure World! I don't know why it sounds so dated, but it does.

ETA: there are 18,000 residents averaging 78 years of age, according to the fact sheet.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My enthusiasm for seeing more and more screenings cooled further this afternoon when I realized that the 5 string notes that have been earworming me all day long are from the Odie Bar commercial that makes River go batshit. The cutesy international characters singing along should have tipped me off that it was going to be difficult to get out of my brain back when I first saw it in the theater...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There's a Leisure World in the suburbs of DC, too.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Holy dammit Christmas. My palms are already itching for this one.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

And not the kind who rips people's teeth out just for kicks.

You'll be a dentist! You have a talent for causing things pain!

Damn. Beaten to the punch.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Except the logic that most of those victims screaming on their radios probably should have known to space themselves rather than be captured alive by the Reavers.

Okay, now the thought of someone holding down a comm button, or opening a comm channel, just to scream while being raped/tortured to death makes me think of Monty Python --

"Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve AAAAAGGH, he'd just say it."

"Perhaps he was dictating?"

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Thank you, Sean, for putting the image in my head of a nattily-dressed Reaver (complete with face carvings) taking a human captive to the captain of his ship.

"I brought this bloke back to my cabin to have a little fun, a little rapin' and eatin', when I realized that the only reason he was standing in his bridge was that he had been nailed there."

"Well, if I hadn't nailed him to the floor, he would have put on that spacesuit, muscled open the hatch, and then voom!"

Adrian Pasdar: bringing hot (and ambiguously gay) to a new level since Top Gun.

Fruity Oaty Bars / Make a man out of a mouse / Fruity Oaty Bars / Make you bust out of your blouse.

Been singing that for about a week now.

And OMG. The pretty.
