Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been getting pop-ups lately. I would be disappointed if it was from BOM.

They were just the most recent site I've been to that I'm not at all the freaking time, so I don't know.

Do I need to mention how I love the Rock? Luv.

"Don' be e-scared"

Actually, not a pan. The camera is stationary and does not zoom at all (what's the technical term for this?)

Static. And it's a brilliant shot, because it feels like a tilt (a pan is side to side), because Simon and Kaylee are dropping down out of frame as River appears above, so Joss is moving your eye on the screen.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It's like relativity!

"Don' be e-scared"

I had Simon and River dropping out of frame there before I edited that post. That's just too Hodgeberrytastic.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"Hodgeberrytastic" sounds like some fancy flavor of ice cream.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I was watching The Prodigal earlier (hello, Tim episode!), and who did I see but Saffron Bridget Yolanda Reynolds as the tavern wench talking to Darla about Liam. Why did I never notice her there before?

ION - I was wondering how Firefly was doing on the SciFi channel....

[link]

For 9/19-9/25, it was their fourth-rated show, after Battlestar Galactica, Path of Destruction and Stargate: Atlantis.

Firefly had a Nielson rating of 1.3. BSG was 2.0. (Is that millions of viewers?)

A point equals something close to 1.1 million households.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I had Simon and River dropping out of frame there before I edited that post.

Far more realistic than Simon/Kaylee. And yet, not as realistic as Simon/Jayne.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Heh. During the latest viewing I noticed a bit of Hodgeberryosity when Simon was cleaning the blood off River. I guess now that he's undergone reparation therapy, no woman is safe.

Crossposted from Movies, since I thought I was here when posting there:

Viewing #5 of Serenity may be it for me for a week or two. I've seen it enough times in a short enough period that I started to drift off early on, though once the heist got underway the action was moving fast enough to keep me engaged. But during the fight at Inara's I found myself imagining Companion self-defense training with the Operative falling victim to pepper perfume spray, nerve Astroglide, or a high-powered "back massager" with its batteries set on overload .

Best line this viewing: "At last, we can retire and give up this life of crime."

Mal was right: Fanti is prettier than Mingo.

I noticed for the first time that Kaylee actually stepped on a wounded Jayne on her way to fuss over Simon after the folks on the mule narrowly escaped the Reavers.
