libkitty, I love your theory. I've been thinking of Book as a retired op, but hadn't carried it nearly as far.
Confession: I showed Firefly to a Star Trek club, ship, whatever. Told 'em there'd be a movie soon. Next thing you know they've put together a complete Serenity crew in costume and ready for opening night. Their own idea. Somehow, I don't think I turned off any Trekkies. Trekkers. Whatever.
Now, what colour is my coat?
As long as your shirt isn't red, Mikey!
Speaking of crazy Browncoats, someone who joined the yahoo group I manage on Saturday just sent an e-mail to the group today saying "Stop e-mailing me". Um, perhaps you missed the whole "this is an e-mail list" thing?
Those are my favorite. No matter what the fandom.
I remember seeing one of those in my Netflix complaints group. Guy couldn't understand why everyone was bagging on Netflix.
I started to write her a very polite e-mail explaning it to her and then decided it wasn't worth the effort (especially in the face of her apparent hatred of e-mail) so I just removed (but didn't ban) her from the group. Which I'm sure is now making her wonder why she got kicked off, but at least it will solve her e-mail problem.
Couldn't she have gone with the "no mail" option?
She certainly could have. I'm not sure she really grasped the concept as a whole.
Just popping in to note that I went to imdb.com and was greeted by...
Please Meet Summer Glau
The exotic Summer Glau appears in writer-director Joss Whedon's Serenity as the mysterious River, a young woman who is being hunted down by the entire galaxy. Summer's managers realized that when directors and casting directors are hunting for the perfect person to fit their part, the perfect picture helps their client get noticed. Make sure your client's face graces their page, add their headshot using IMDb's Publicity Photos today.
Quite a photo.
(the *entire* galaxy!? Oh noes!)
Questions about Box Office receipts...
Are weekend numbers more important than weekday numbers? If I wait 'til the weekend, is seeing the movie on the weekend in any way akin to voting with a bullet? Do all Thursdays count toward the coming weekend, or is that just an opening week thingie? Do weekdays eventually get split and put toward one weekend or another?
In other words, is it more helpful for dh and me to go see
Serenity
on any particular night within the next five days or so?
