Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm left-handed, and I work with a weird tension - most patterns don't work for me until I've either fiddled with them or reworked them completely.

I'm also left-handed, and made this pattern for AnotherAlaskan for Christmas. I used the flat pattern, because my 10.5 circulars are too long, and it came out a little small. I recommend using the larger size. It's so fun to make, though, and I think it went over well as a gift. I need to get more suitably ugly yarn now!

Stumbles into shiny new thread...

Hang on... Who brought the ninjas to Hawaii?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Who brought the ninjas to Hawaii?

Swallows.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

African or European?

Well, African swallows are non-migratory....

All is well that ends in pizza.

Yes, but they have beautiful plumage....

Yes, but they have beautiful plumage....

Which I think the ninjas would like.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Consuela: (from another, now deceased instance of this thread) I was trying to make the point, in my usual telegraphic and obscure style that Moon's characters seem to get conflict and pain from their families, in contrast to Cherryh's characters, who have some discord in the family unit, to be sure, but are able to put it aside when the external world comes calling with problems.

Not that you were still wondering.

I need to stop smoking. I think it does things to my brain.

It does. You are hallucinating ninjas in tropical plumage. Put the pipe down!

Hmmm. The leads do, apparently. They're always terribly misunderstood by those closest to them. But they do seem to pull together when necessary. Certainly the Serranos are some huge power in the Familias universe, and the Vatta in the new series (same universe, different location, perhaps? both use ansibles) appear to be struggling to protect one another as best they can. FWIW.
