You can call around and find out which theater will be showing Serenity, come the day. Then call and ask if they'll have a midnight show.
So far, the only movies that have had midnight shows locally have been LotR and the Star Wars prequels. Not Harry Potter or any other highly hyped and eagerly-awaited movies, just those two franchises.
We had midnight screenings for the second Matrix film.
But we live in the centre of the world.
Has anyone seen regular tv ads for Serenity yet? It is still coming out in wide release by the end of this month, right? I'm just a little alarmed we haven't seen anything to reel in the regular folk.
I've seen trailers at the last 3 movies I attended.
I've seen the trailer only before Star Wars, not with the other two this summer. I usually only get interested in a movie by ads I see on tv, so I'm surprised that I haven't seen one on the small screen. I rarely go to the movies; does that happen a lot? (The having only movie trailers and not television ads thing.)
d, I've been wondering the same thing. Though, I'm really only watching Sci-fi Friday this time of year, so I wouldn't know if there were
Serenity
ads elsewhere. Still. I was hoping to see a post or two in here saying that that someone had seen a trailer during X Show, yay.
I too was concerned about the lack of TV ads and then realized I don't watch any TV.
I just went to see The Constant Gardener (excellent, but depressing as hell) and was concerned about the lack of Serenity posters.
See, this is the thing. "The Constant Gardener" audience and the "Serenity" audience do not fit into marketeer's image of the "same folks."
We could lend them a different image ... but it would upset their projections.
