I can't even.

Off to the Toronto Press Screening tonight (non-press seats filled out by local Browncoats). One of my buddies will be seeing Serenity for the first time tonight, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks of it.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Oh so glorious.

Site says Serenity was licensed to Mal in 2512. We're getting specific with dates now. Neat.

Wow. The new Serenity flash site is AMAZING! Oh, look, they even have a cookbook with real recipes.

Session 416 (Information Page): http://www.session416.com/

Just a brief FYI out of last night's press screening in Portland. First, it was a mixed fan/non-fan audience (which accounts for my case of nerves, since it was the first time I was seeing it with an audience that wasn't all Browncoats). Second, it seemed to play well, with responses to the different aspects (action, drama, humor) on the mark, and no stray "this is stupid" snickers overheard. Third, apparently one of the pickier critics in town liked it, to the point where they now are going to go watch the series, which they've never seen.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Wacky cross-genre thing: I picked up the current issue of Zink magazine, which is an EXTREMELY hip, edgy, and high-end fashion mag. It had a 2-page spread on Serenity, and generally burbled enthusiastically about the movie.

Um.

Convinced two colleagues to rent (though not buy) the DVD's after loaning them burnt copies of "Serenity". They're also up for seeing the movie, so I guess that's two halves of a toaster?

Also, has anyone got a synopsis of the first issue of the "Serenity" comic? I found a copy of #2 (Zoe cover), but suspect I'm missing some stuff.
