Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Showed that to her after The Message so the hat wouldn't be a surprise.

A good thing, too. A man walks down the street in a hat like that, and everyone around knows that his mother loves him. Also that not only does he love his mom, but that he ain't afraid of anything.

ETA: Making threats against Fox execs can't be illegal, can it? I mean, seriously. They aren't from this species.

Just as long as the Men In Black don't see it, right?

Adrian Pasdar: bringing hot (and ambiguously gay) to a new level since Top Gun.

move out and draw fire

Whedon dreamed up Firefly six years ago after reading Michael Shaara's Civil War novel, The Killer Angels.

I did not know this. And it made me tear up a little. I've wished that my dad, a big proponent of the space western, could've seen Firefly. I don't know if he would've loved it, but he would have respected it, and I wanted to share it with him. He died in 2001, though. His last 24 hours was spent listening to his wife read him The Killer Angels, a book he really liked.

Mine would have liked Firefly, too.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hoopskirts are a hoot to wear. As long as you don't plan to do anything like sit down.

You can sit down in them

Yep. You can even sit on the ground and lay down in them. See?

brillig

Yep. You can even sit on the ground and lay down in them.

And wear Nikes under them to coronations and do the Hustle while only appearing to sway oddly. Hoopskirts are cool.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Adam Baldwin is going to EIFF now, too. Although there's no URL it yet as it hasn't been announced properly yet.

Also, see Kevin and friends take Serenity to the Birmingham NEC:

I relocate to a certain hotel Sunday night in Edinburgh with everybody for shindiggery and interview fun. I will be returning the following week, probably knackered.

Oh, and I met somebody from Londonshire at the long lead press screening last Wednesday (which, by the way, went down a storm) who I am visiting again next weekend. Flirtation is in the air.

Eddie - first person to spot that.

ETA: that single sentence contains the entire subtext as to why I don't work in the media industry. I just wouldn't fit in.
