I just noticed that Zoe keeps popping up with the medical info/skills.
Serenity: "Plasma, insulin, whatever they aint got enough of."
Train Job: "Degenerative disease of the bone and muscle."
Safe: treating Book's injuries
Perhaps she had basic medic training during the war?
Perhaps she had basic medic training during the war?
It would be a useful skill to have.
"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"
"I waited for you guys!"
"I was aiming for his head."

Joss has a foot fetish. IJS.
But such lovely feet.
(I might have a bit of a foot fetish, too.)
I can never remember if the show's name is Firefly or Serenity. Annoying.
So I've watched the first three episodes, and I have to say, I'm not sure I'd have stayed with it first time around. I find the Chinese annoying, though the translation of classic Western tropes to a futuristic setting is neat.
The most interesting characters for me are Book, Wash, and Dr. Simon (plus Simon's pretty). And Kaylee's just cute as a button. Jayne's irritating, Zoe doesn't feel like she's got enough depth to her (if she weren't married to Wash I'd see no depth at all, and I'm hoping to see more of how they got together), and Mal--it's weird, but he seems almost too noble. Maybe just a little regret at having to give up the job and the money.
Inara--it is Inara, right?--is almost too much the whore with the heart of gold, and the relationship with Mal has no subtlety. He can't stay away from her, she prays for him, but those two crazy kids just can't keep from bickering.
Haven't seen enough River to really get a handle on her. Book fascinates me. He's a man of maturity and courtesy, and enough grace to get along with Inara. He has the sort of peace of spirit that comes from having played in non-peaceful fields.
I'll keep watching, of course, but I'm not one hundred percent in its corner yet.
