I lent the DVDs to another co-worker, who dutifully watched Train Job first, because he was following airing order. Note to self for next co-worker: "be explicit".
Why don't people just watch them in the order they appear on the DVDs? Wouldn't you think that would be the default? Why would someone go out of his way to emulate the bass-ackwards Fox execs?

I never disliked Inara or Morena, sorry. I agree the whole empowered Companion thing was more Tell than Show, but I was willing to let it play out and see what happened. Didn't really get the chance.

FYI, my father, who we got Firefly for Xmas (and who is a retired Episcopal priest and social worker), is loving it. Some part, he said, are pure camp, and then it goes directly from that to some of the truest, most mature relationships ever written. (I paraphrase.)
