'Serenity'

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

First time I saw the Inara sponge bath I thought my DVD player had locked up for a second.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I just clicked the DirecTV guide on, and it said "Firefly". I just teared up.

Firefly on my tv on Friday, where it belongs!

But yeah, I agree that everything looks a little squashed or cut off without the widescreenj.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I can't believe they're showing it in fullscreen (especially since Serenity has the one shot with Mal and Simon on the walkway that Joss said he put in to force Fox to air it widescreen.) not to mention cutting it. This is promotion for your upcoming movie, Universal. It's more important intact than getting in an extra commerical for your upcoming Sci-Fi Original "Attack of the Miniature Giant Space Hamster".

Firefly DVD is currently at #30 on Amazon. I'm curious to see if there's an uptick in the near future.

Yeah, it was hard to see what was happening when Kaylee got shot due to the pan-and-scan.

(Yes, guns don't kill people, pan-and-scan does.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Whoot! Just sitting down to watch, so I don't have anything to say except that I'd forgotten how freaking dark the intro scenes are on my screen. I don't notice it being that bad on the DVDs.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I love the way Simon says "won't that be fun".

I can't decide if there's a joke in this exchange:

"You got an extractor?"

"Got a laser saw."

"That's not good enough."
