Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

I may have to seize the cat.

Luuuucy. 'Splain.

Don't need to, as it's been said:

I think the movie was a better movie than the show, and the show was a better show than the movie.

Seems sensible to me.

Essentially, what I want in my little fangirl heart is just a Very Big Screen Episode of Firefly. Which would, of course, be a terrible movie. There are things you can do on TV that you can't do on film, like spending a long time developing characters and relationships, and establishing setting, almost all scope things. I prefer the TV scope, and after being used to seeing this story in the TV medium, seeing it on film was jarring. I wanted them to take this movie and make it 2 or 3 episodes.

But we'll take what we can get.

A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

So any chance of a screening to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con?

It's funny because I've seen people say this is more like an episode on a bigger scale than a movie. I felt like that about some of the Star Trek movies. I'm curious to see for myself.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

So any chance of a screening to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con?

I have heard that this is a possibility but, will deny it if questioned.

Art Crawl!!!

The Serenity trailer was attached to Batman Begins out here in exurbia. So, very likely.

It was like a summary of several episodes, if anything. Or, I guess I can see why they might think it was like an episode, in the sense that there really ought to be some before and after that we don't get, because it was a movie. Nine people is too many for two hours to handle, and really was almost too many for 13 hours to handle, and I think this is what upsets me, that they couldn't have every member of the cast on screen for hours on end being important, because people won't sit through that.

I hope that wasn't a spoiler.

All is well that ends in pizza.

As for leaving it unguarded, I imagine they needed everyone to help setup the defenses.

Doesn't matter. You don't leave your most valuable asset, one that's part of your plan, unguarded. It was out of character for both of them.

I alwys figured it possible that one of the useful things about having your own moon is that you can buy a universal ship opener....

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

As an unofficial Cinemark rep, I can tell you that if you see BB at a Cinemark, it'll probably have a Serenity trailer on it. It was an "in the can" trailer.

That was good. His friend look like a cartoon of Silent Bob.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Excellent.

Um...

When's ComicCon?
