Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I got that too. It actually looked vaguely fun, in a way, but I don't understand how it's supposed to exist in modern times.

Never passed through the rural South, have you?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I got the best of both worlds -- previews for Serenity AND Dukes of Hazard.

Envy me, O Unworthy Ones....

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Adrian Pasdar: bringing hot (and ambiguously gay) to a new level since Top Gun.

Never passed through the rural South, have you?

Hey, we're not all bad.

There are even some raving liberals floating about, although you have to look hard, because we tend to hide out of fear self-preservation.

I'm perfectly fine with Dukes of Hazard being a pleasantly hazy childhood memory (with the occasional reference to Bo Kent in SV fandom). Not in the least looking forward to the movie, despite the slash potential, or the Herbie remake, despite the fact I like Volkswagon Beetles.

ION, I'm headed up to Raleigh to visit a friend this weekend--anyone in that area know which theaters are A) Cary-ish and B) playing the Serenity trailer with Batman Begins?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Herbie's not so much a remake as a return or sequel or something like that.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I pretty much can't stand most of the cast, so I'm not watching it on the basis of not needing 2 hours of aggravation.

Going to see BB on Saturday. Here's hoping there's a Serenity trailer before it.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

tianxiaode -

Looks like Crossroads 20 has it. Can't speak to the Serenity trailer aspect.

You know, I just saw today that there was a TV show in development called "Revved" by the guy who wrote Sorority Boys about a couple of brothers in NC NASCAR country working out of a chop shop and fighting corruption... funny how that didn't make it to pilot.

I'm torn on DoH the Movie. Kinda want to see it, kinda am horrified by Jessica Simpson as Daisy. Kinda am aware that "Dukes of Hazzard purist" is a ridiculous thing.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

The way they deal with the stars & bars on top of the General Lee in order to keep away the cries of perpetuating racism is worthy of an eye-roll: Apparently the General gets banged up and a bunch of southern rednecks fix it up for the Duke boys. The rednecks end up painting the Confederate flag, after which, no doubt, the Duke brothers will shrug their shoulders and wink at the camera. Not that I think there's a better way to deal with it--I just don't like that it needs dealing with at all. It's possible this'll be a fun flick, but it's just another TV remake the idea of which leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think I'm just a crusty bastard about the TV remakes.

Which makes one wonder why someone would call an orange car without the Confederate flag on it the General Lee.
