Rumour mill says Serenity may be released earlier than Sept. 30 according to this [link]
From the link:
THEN he tells me. . ."Oh. . .you guys probably won't even have to wait until September 30th anymore. Our test markets and advance screenings are off the charts. . .we had no idea. . .when you said, 'Big following', I didn't realize how big. . ."
Well this is just... neat.
One of my coworkers today said she was a big Firefly fan -- saw the show on broadcast and then watched all the dvds, and still hadn't heard of the movie until today. Huh.
They've actually done very little marketing to the general public, right? And still the screenings sell out in minutes.
I'm assuming that when it gets to be Aug/Sept there will be a real big studio marketing push.... I'm hoping to see some of the cast on
The Daily Show.
Ooh - Joss and Jon--now that would be a fun interview....
People make up shit all the time.
On the internets????
Say it ain't so....
But on thinking about it, it seems like way too much trouble for them to change the release date at this point, huh?
Or maybe the distributer was smoking the crack....

I thought you meant Jon B. I'm sure he'd let Joss co-host a Breakfat of Champions show.

Nah -- the
Batman Begins
date was changed pretty late on in the run. It doesn't always look good, though, the bumping and bumping.
Heh. My post was x-post with Jon's....

Me too. I was like, "Sure!"
OK, Jon should interview Joss and Jon.
How's that?
I highly doubt that Serenity will get moved. Actually, I think they've got a pretty good weekend right now, because the only thing I can think of with a Sept. 30 opening is "Hustle and Flow" (movie about skaters, as in roller).
Though October is traditionally a slow month for movies... maybe earlier in September would be good....

Nope -- it's about a wannabe rapper.
