It's disturbing to me that I'm seriously contemplating getting a t-shirt that says Joss Whedon is My Master Now. And wearing it to places where likely no one knows what it means, and everyone will think I'm into S&M and proud of it...

It's a contrast thing. We're proud to be pale. At least, I am. I like pale skin in guys and girls both, actually.
Think goth, but too lazy for the accessories.
I'm fairly pale and I prefer the black shirts. Of course, the slimming effect of darker colors doesn't hurt.

a) the yellowface, it burns us -- yeah, that's the idea.
2) shirt is riffing off the star wars title screen. Pretty much has to be black. (Back in the day, Stars Wars buttons (yes) had a blue background, which looked mega-lame, or whatever we said then)
