We arrived at the 10 PM Atlanta screening at 9:25. It was mostly full by then. We got decent seats but not together.
Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.
Also, dope slap instead of bitch slapping.
Don't forget the codpiece!
I arrived at the Chicago screening an hour before the start. I would say that 80% of the folks were already there.
beathen, if you're interested in sampling the Buffy comics, I have many of them, and lots of duplicates. I'd be glad to send you a couple. (Offer is open to anyone else interested, of course, not just beathen.)
Huh. I thought the Kaylee cover was pretty good, but Zoe was unrecognizable.
Those Buffy covers are horrifying.
The Zoe cover, I am not fond of. I actually can see Kaylee a bit in the eyes of hers. Book's looks very craggy or something.
The Buffy in Vegas cover made me laugh. And then laugh some more.
Theodosia- thank you so much for the offer, but I've actually had a good old Buffy friend from way back agree to come with me, and I'm going to just crash in the city that night.
I'm not off work until 4:30 that day, though. Which, in looking at train schedules, wouldn't work, because I'd get into town at about 9:10. That's cutting it too close for comfort. I'll try to get out an hour earlier or so and get the earlier train.
I got to the Chicago screening at about 8:30 and they'd already filled up the inital queue they'd set up and started a new one along the wall which was over half full. By 8:45 the line had started obstructing the box office. (They had us waiting out in the lobby rather than outside the theatre in question.)
ETA: The line itself was actually pretty animated with people talking and generally being excited, plus taking pictures of the cardboard standups the Canadians had brought and the handful of people in costume, so it really didn't feel like a wait.

Me too, Consuela... it wasn't quite photorealistic, but I could very easily tell it was based on Jewel Staite. The Zoe cover, however, could just as easily have used a photo of Apollonia Kotero for reference. Or Kelly LeBrock.
