All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

When the people who run real fan conventions have the vision to book media guests in the short early period before Creation type cons get their hooks into them you find out how limited the Creation experience can be.

For example, would you rather have spent a weekend drinking at the hotel bar with Frakes and Dorn, or in lines at a Creation Con waiting for their autographs a year later?

Earlier this year I talked with someone who runs an upcoming con. He'd been offered as a possible Guest of Honor a certain writer-director whose name should be obvious in this forum without me typing it. He was asking everyone he knew whether anyone would attend a convention to see said guest...

Needless to say, this particular con got someone else, someone you'd have to Google.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I have not been to any of Allyson's parties, alas, so I have no basis for comparison. But one thing I like about Dragon*Con is that it's big enough to get lost in if you want to just wander, but also well-organized so that it's not chaos. I was probably going to go anyway to see the Serenity people, but it's the meeting up with old friends and the chance of making new ones that convinced me to lay down the cash.

I'm also jaded about autographs and etc. I'm not waiting in line more than a minute and a half for anything (except money).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh, if only the DMV and other bureaucratic services would allow me to say the same.

One of the things I liked best about the job Allyson and Maya did with the Annual Review was that the bands had their own performance area somewhat away from the auction and other social mixing areas. So nice to be able to visit with people without having to shout over guitars.

Hee hee. I just lent out my Firefly set to my friend Colleen who had only ever seen the Fox broadcast of the pilot. I had forwarded her the link to the trailer last week and it piqued her interest. I just got this message from my housemate. She passed the set on to Colleen at their yoga class yesterday.

hey, Colleen watched 6 episodes of firefly last night! YAY! she's so on board. the mothership. serenity.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Trying to concentrate for the remainder of the day here at work is proving to be extremely difficult. I just want it to be 5pm so I can run home, change and then head to city for dinner and the screening.

I don't want to be spoiled for the movie at all...but I would like to hear some "YAYs" from the people who see it... provided that it deserves a YAY.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I second what lisah said.

I'll be perfectly happy to say yay or nay. Though I can't imagine it not being a "yay". But don't worry, there will be no "River is made out of chocolate"s from me.

I kinda don't want to hear "nay" ...just "Yay" or nothing. So if it's nothing I can pretend that those people who got to saw it just didn't want to risk posting big yays without giving away plot points and such... it's irrational I know.

eta...irrational because somebody not liking it is not going to make me not go see it in sept. or anything.
