Oh, I think The Lexx probably outdoes Serenity in that department.
Wow, I think that one even outdoes the ship in Flesh Gordon.
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

I'm pretty sure the Lexx is the product of too much pot.
Announcement today of a RPG based on Serenity by Margarent Weis Productions.
Well, in the actual show the shaftfusilage is thinner, so it ends up looking more like a dragonfly than the schematic. But they made sure to re-use a shot of it rotating in every episode that kind of brought the phallic nature home.
Wow.... plus, is the "Monster" the class name or something? Because... woah.
So, after the fancy animated Universal logo fades away, New Orleans lights up. What's up with that?
Also. WHEEE!
Looks like River brings some whupass on Reavers as well as regular bar folk.
And I sure wish I knew where that particular southern California location with the big rock face actually is, since I'm thinking - hey, I wanna go rockclimb on that! I didn't know that there is anything like that in the Santa Clarita sort of area where they filmed a bunch of the exteriors.
Non-spoilery review of Serenity, based on a screening in Australia.
I’ve been a firefly fan from the start. Joss is a genius. Buffy. Angel. Firefly. The best TV out there. Now that’s a lot of hype. My expectations for this flick were huge. I had so many ideas in my mind, they have to explore this, and they have to do that!
So, what happened?
I was absolutely blown away. It was just so amazing. It surpassed all my expectations and even though I didn’t think it was possible, gave me that much more respect for joss, the cast and the crew of firefly.
Shit. If it turns out there was also a preview in Adelaide I will spew4evah!!!!!1!!!!
Zap2it story about the Serenity RPG.
Just watched OoG with commentary. When the ep originally aired, I was trying to watch at the same time as I was coding the first F:IA website. This meant I missed chunks, and generally couldn't quite figure out how this particular episode had made such a difference to people.
I've watched it since then, but that first watching has always affected my opinion of it, I think.
Watching it with the commentary has opened up my eyes to why it did what it did for whom it did. This is possibly the smartest episode of the show. It is so structurally sound. I wish I had more things to say about these, but there's nothing I can add to what the rest of the world has already said. A commentary definitely worth watching.
