suffered abuse and humilation from another fan who verbally kicked the shit out of me
Mainly because that person is an insufferable SOB. Just my two cents.
ETA: I did defend you quietly, Allyson and have been ridiculed and humiliated as well. He is a prick.
skipping thru to say my family - some of whom did not see firefly are already kicking tags back and forth in email.
Well, now you can do no wrong in my eyes, maybe that makes me fickle.
See, there is no difference of opinion that cannot be solved by Bruce. (Who I am watching on TV right now AIFG!)
IMO, once the piece is written, the creator has done their job--they owe the fandom nothing, not even a second glance.
Yes and no. I don't think that a creator owes the fans anything. But when they go to the fans and ask for their help and the fans answer, the line blurs for me. (I'm not specifically talking about Joss here. This scenario is becoming more and more common.) I feel that they deserve a thank you. But maybe my mom drilled the "send a thank you note" schtick into my head a little too hard.
ETA: Tamara, we should start a club or something. I think we'd have a lot of members.
I just finished watching the trailer (stupid work, with the "no video playing allowed" policy). Rock on! It looks great, and I'm hoping that my sister (who has firmly resisted the entire Mutant Enemy body of work, no matter what I say) will be dragged to see it by her new boyfriend, a Buffy/Angel fan from what she tells me.
Kristen, A legion methinks.
Kathy! You changed your name without going through B'crazy. Sneaky.
Ha! I went the direct route, with an e-mail to the Stompies. Last name was getting me a bit itchy, hanging out there on the internet like that. Of course, I still haven't changed it on WX yet.
If they ask, then I think a thank you is owed. But I'm mannerly like that.
Jumping ahead in case this hasn't been posted. Dave's Trailer Page has links to download the file directly to your HDD. [link]
If this movie ain't bigger than Star Wars Ep3, then there are too many idiots running around with money in their pockets.
That just looks . . . . Awesome. In the original sense of the word.
