I think that was my seventh time just now. Maybe.
Maybe it's just the trailer, but it seems like there's almost no Western left besides some tinges in Mal's dialogue. Which, I mean, okay, I'm more a sci-fi fan than a Western fan. But someone needs to shoot a horse.
That makes sense.
Would it have killed them to use the series music? It being of the 'verse and all?
Okay. I'm done on this count. I swear.
eta: Oh wait. Fox vs. Universal. No mixy rightes. Okay. Now I'm REALLY done.
One of the LOTR:TTT trailers featured music from Requiem for a Dream. (they mixed it differently, though)
I can't risk watching more than once at work.
I'm guessing (hoping) they're playing down the Western aspects for the trailer to try to appeal to a wider audience but they'll be more present in the actual movie.
I wonder what the whole war thing is about? Considering that the Browncoats lost to the Alliance, there can't be much of an Independent military left.
Absurd theory: The Browncoats ally themselves with the Reavers against the Alliance. Could be fun. Although Ambassador to the Reavers would have to be the worse job in the 'verse....
By also saying "From the mind of Joss Whedon - creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel" it should help tap into those fandoms and get more people in the seats.
I thought it was sweet that they put the fact that it was loved by millions of fans worldwide into the trailer.
It could be a massive "assault" by Reavers on the border planets. The Alliance doesn't believe in the threat. Mal and Co somehow end up trying to rally whoever they can into stopping them.
ETA: Which sounds kind of cheesy, I realize.
I thought it was sweet that they put the fact that it was loved by millions of fans worldwide into the trailer.
That may have been the bit that pushed me from being slightly teary-eyed to full-blown waterworks. May have been.
