Right! Sta-Puft! Geez, I'll forget "Shh. Do you smell something?" next.

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.
I had to explain to my kids the other day that there really was a Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man, that he wasn't just made up for Ghostbusters.
...I didn't know that either.
They wanted Poppin' Fresh, but Pillsbury wouldn't budge.
Actually, I would like to see some proof that there was a pre-existing Sta-Puft brand with the Sta-Puft man. Most cites and wikis say it is fictional.
I have no opinion one way or the other.
It would be nice to be able to point to something tangable.
Off to re-google.
Really? I read an article in Premire where Akroyd was talking about telling the conceptual artist to draw something that looked like a cross between the dough boy and the Michellin man.
Kalshane, that's what I thought, too, but I couldn't recall exactly where I read it.
Of course, so were the Spartans and they turned out okay.
If by okay, you mean "all completely dead - but heroically."
Which, if you were a Spartan, yeah -- they would have said that was okay. Like, second place to winning. ("Mostly dead" for a Spartan was definitely a loss. So, if you gotta be a dead Spartan, go for the completely dead option.)
Phew. I thought I was going to expose my youth by saying that I didn't know there was a real Sta-Puft man.
With your shield, or on it...
