I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Are these the same ones that celebrate Thanksgiving by seeing who can get Grandma to go sit in the car for two hours?

OMG, this just made me laugh and laugh and laugh. Both the concept and juliana's succinct summarization. HA!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

erikaj, your current tag line --

If you replace the talking horses with burned-out detectives there are clear similarities. Anne W. and I share a writing philosophy from childhood.

-- makes me want to see the two of you collaborate on a talking horse detective fic. You could call it Horseicide: Life on the Stables

Quick question for those who know meetings and possibly Roberts' Rules of Order:

If you are a person at a meeting who has a vote but who doesn't vote -- isn't that an abstention? Or do you actually have to say "I abstain" in order for it to be an abstention?

Thanks!

juliana - Jan 24, 2005 4:27:18 am PST #9878 of 10002
I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

sumi, the closest I can find is:

On some occasions a call for abstentions may be proper, but this is not commonly invoked. But Chairs should be prepared for one or more members wishing to have their abstention recorded in the meeting’s minutes.

There is also an interpretation (in the legal sense) of Robert's that states:

Silence during the formal vote should be interpreted as abstention.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Are these the same ones that celebrate Thanksgiving by seeing who can get Grandma to go sit in the car for two hours?

No, that's my Dad's side of the family.

What is even happening?

Okay, Anne. I missed the grandma-in-the car story. Share, please.

I'm glad your family isn't without power. It is terribly cold. On the Boston news this morning, they said about 4000 people are still without power--I think that was South Shore or Cape-wards.

Today's an official snow day here, but I told the kids not to count on going to school last night, because the roads are treacherous, anyhow. We live within walking distance, but there was so much snow, most of the sidewalks aren't shoveled, and it just wasn't worth it, and too dangerous.

Cat tetris stacking is the crack. How many levels are there. I can't get past level 10. My kids are now reminding me to blink, occasionally.

Julian McMahon is going to be on Charmed's 150th episode.

How wrong is it that Charmed gets a 150th episode?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How wrong is it that Charmed gets a 150th episode?

How wrong is it that they get Oded Fehr?

Infinitely.
