I couldn't believe it the first twenty times you told us, but it's starting to sink in now.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

It's downright hot here and I wish it were cold. Not snowing cold, just chilly enough for a sweater or turtleneck. It shouldn't be hot in January.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's only 70odd here, GC. I wish it were hot.

I'm torn between sitting at home and watching Sneakers, or testing out that cafe down the street while I wait for the pastry dough to chill.

I think I'll do the cafe, despite the shoe requirement. I need to buy something to go into the pie anyway.

Our wings are not tired.

We had a few chilly days and everyone had fun digging out their pretty sweaters. Floridians tend to wear bulky sweaters while staying bare toed in sandals. I thought it was silly when I moved here, but now I find I do it too.

Seriously. But I'm not going to sit next to you again. You're too violent. Anyway, GC, that's what air conditioners are for-- wearing sweaters, or maybe lighting up the fireplace.

Hi, Laura!

Good-bye, Johnny Carson. You always made me smile.

Hi Alibelle!

Woo! Go Eagles. I'm good with either NE or Pittsburgh, but I wanted the Eagles to be there. (Not really a football fan, but live with several)

Art Crawl!!!

I was hoping to find pie at Walgreen's, alas, no pie. I did find skinny cow icecream sandwiches though.

Me, too! In the sense that I could care less, but there's some sort of campus-wide love sickness for that game.

Although, I did ask Winston Justice-- I think that's his name, why winning athletes get rings, and he didn't know. Someone else proposed that jewelry is more portable than a trophy, and I said getting a house would be cooler. Or maybe a car. Because then people could see it from a distance, or go inside it, if you invited them. And Winston just pleasantly agreed.

Well, my cake wasn't as impressive as it could have been, since I'm pretty sure I saw the exact same one at Starbucks,

And yet, it was $2.10 as opposed to Starbucks $4.50. So that's something.

Allyson deserves a kiss for giving me a good reason to buy a die cut machine, a thing I've wanted since I became a teacher.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Grr. I've been dying to paint my fugly kitchen for ages now. I went out this afternoon and finally got the paint I wanted, a dark teal. Got everything all taped up and ready to go, popped the can and...

What they gave me was a bright sky blue. And of course, by the time I got back to the store, they were closed. Fuckers.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Out of the 17 files I needed to work on today, two of them weren't anywhere I could find them, and two of them were exactly where they were supposed to be, but didn't have anything in them, even though they were supposed to. I predict shit will be hitting the fan, come Monday morning.

On the upside, a) this is not my fault; b) I have very workable plans for dealing with it if we can't find the files or their contents; c) I get to go home about an hour earlier than expected; and d) I may stop and get pie.

PIE!
