The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Is winter over yet?

If only....

The snow is very pretty, but that opinion will no doubt change as I head off for work tomorrow. I just hope the stuff hasn't drifted enough to cover up what I shoveled yesterday.

That stew sounds very, very yummy.

I am making pasta sauce (tomatoes, red onion, white wine, sweet Italian sausage) which I plan to have over penne pasta. After a weekend of painting, cleaning, and shoveling, I feel that I deserve a real dinner.

Just eight short weeks until spring.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

He meant business weeks.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Has anyone else seen the Disney on Ice ad for their production of "Finding Nemo"?

OMG - the costumes are FREAKEE.

It's the location of the eyeballs that I find most disturbing.

I need to walk to the store for the essentials I forgot to buy before the snow. Maybe I'll look for some pie, too. I should also attempt to uncover my car, but I'm tempted to just get the kitty litter out of the trunk and wait until Tuesday to shovel.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Technically, the amout of time until spring has yet to be determined by some burrowing rodent in charge of such things.

Yes. And the way the skaters shake their, um, eyeballs as they skate....

Our wings are not tired.

RIP Johnny. The man's timing was a wonderful thing to watch.

Be safe snow covered ones.

I finally on day 23 made good on my promise to myself to start walking the beach in the morning this year. I got my butt out at 7AM to test how long it takes me to get dressed, walk dog, pack water and whatever, drive to beach, park, walk 30 minutes, and drive home. I managed it all in 45 minutes which means if I get out of bed at 6 weekdays I can be home in time to get the kids ready for school.

This could work. If I don't get to the beach before my day begins it never happens. I had almost forgotten there were waves and sea gulls and stuff. Shocking how many people were out there at that hour.

I totally do not miss snow.

What is even happening?

I bought a Table Talk pie. In spirit of the day.
I have a Mrs. Smith's apple pie in the freezer for pie emergencies. I can't decide whether or not to pop it in the oven. I'm mulling it (but not in a cider sort of way--or is it, hmmmmm *mull* *mull* *mull*) over as I type.
That wind is a BITCH! They have cleared the sidewalks twice, but the blowing snow has covered them up again.
It's supposed to be a bitch here through the night, and it's supposedly going to shift from north east to north west (I think), meaning the drifts will redrift.

I can't tell if the snow stopped. The windows are all a little foggy from the steam heat and the stew cooking on the stove, and I can't get a clear look under the street lights. I don't think it's still snowing, but I can't quite tell. All the street lights I can see do have icicles hanging from them, which is kind of cool.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I bought a Table Talk pie. In spirit of the day.

I always think Salon when I see those.
