Actually, I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could...we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.

What is even happening?

After reading it that many times, the word "pie" has no meaning at all to me anymore.
This is the saddest thing I've ever read, Jess.

Pie has meaning, as certainly as love and generosity and devotion do, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no meaning in pie! It would be as dreary as if there were no Jessicas. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which pie fills the world would be extinguished.

Find no meaning in pie! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the ovens in all the kitchens and bakeries, but even if you did not see the meaning go into pie, what would that prove? Nobody sees meaning, but that is no sign that there is no meaning in pie. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Jessica, in all this world there is nothing else more meaningful and abiding.

Meaningless pie? Thank goodness we'll have meaningful pie and pie forever. A thousand years from now, Jessica, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, pie will continue to make glad the heart of Buffistae.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I want pie. And, not to taunt the Northeasterners, I shall go to the store soon for pie. And salsa verde to add to my chile verde to give it that authentic flavor. Otherwise, it's just pork stew with chiles.

Always Anti-fascist!

Most commercial pie crust should be sweeter, imo. That is about my only thought about pie. ION,I put season 2 of NE on my queue(I love that thing where Bernard and Chris share the same dreams. I once thought I did that with somebody, but we were trading off having smutty dreams so maybe that is a thought for Bitches?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Sadly, the Patriots/Steelers game will be played in Pittsburgh, where it is cold but the snow is 2 days old. Last year, the championship game was played about 12 hours after a blizzard, and the stands were full of snow piles, and these crazy bundled Michelin Man fans would throw snow into the air like icy fireworks. It was hilarious to watch, and I am not even talking about what happened on the field.

It was, but I really don't want to see a recreation of the timed-to-the-music chucking of the snow, because it will mean that Pittsburgh is winning and not the Pats. I like Pittsburgh for a myriad of reasons (including the fact that hot lawyer woman I'm crushing on is a Pittsburgh fan) but not vs. the Pats.

The evil is this way?

This [snow] is clearly the work of Canadians, folks. And the sooner you come to terms with that, the sooner we can invade and confiscate their weather machine.

Ok so, YOU'RE organizing the Canada invasion this time, Topic!Cindy?? Fine. Fine. Fine. Sheesh. I get lost in Milan, Ohio just one time (OK, SEVERAL times) and no one ever thinks of me to lead again!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Timelies,

I have no idea how much snow we have here, but going out and shovelling it does not really look fun. On the plus side it's 17 and windless at the moment, so this probably the best oppurtunity I'm going to get unless I wake up early for work tomorrow, which is just not going to happen.

I have no pie. Maybe I'll go buy some after I shovel off my sidewalk and driveway.

Has anyone else seen the Disney on Ice ad for their production of "Finding Nemo"?

OMG - the costumes are FREAKEE.

Yes. Very much so. And the "disembodied" voices don't help either.

Yikes, Consuela. Here's hoping the rest of your future SiL's visit goes a whole lot smoother. That sounds like a nightmare.

And I'm off to shovel. Yay.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Ohhh....Johnny Carson died. That's sad.
