Nonian, where do you live? That sounds amazingly like my hometown (Las Cruces, NM.) Sure, the state had snowplows. In the mountains. It made more sense to just wait until it melted, since often that was by 2 pm.
When my officemate was whining about the 1-3 inches we got today and I was calling him a wuss, I didn't share that such would have shut down the entire state in NM. Except the mountains. We had snow days over a mere inch of snow.
Yeah, that cracked me up, too, Nonian. That and the whole thing at the beginning with
Weiss reminding the guy what his code phrase was
.
And, I like the
Scot doctor's accent
.
Oh, oh, and Jack with
"It did. It stopped.
"
Well, i live outside Chapel Hill, NC right now. I promised myself when I moved here I wouldn't bitch about snow/southern driving, but hearing the hype over no snow is too much.
Heh. NC isn't much better (I went to college in G'boro.) It was mostly ice storms while I was there (I thankfully missed the great blizzard of '96 on the east coast.)
I would quit complaining if they would cancel class tomorrow.
Whoever wrote tonight's
Alias
was dead on.
You may all begin hating.... now.
Okay if some of us get a head start? In fact, I think we might form a club and meet in Troy this weekend ...
NC isn't much better
Nope. Really not. And the thing is, a few people are truly complete idiots about this stuff -- but most of them are normal, and get stuck anyway dealing with the minority of idiots plus the gummint's utter failure to buy so much as a bag of rock salt.
(Okay, the fact that it took the boy 4 hours to get home from work? Maybe just a leetle stressful, I'll admit. Really, I'm not usually such a bore about the weather.)
I think that it's Jeff Bell tonight.
edit: writing Alias
Since most students were living on campus, class was only unofficially cancelled when the prof failed to show. The ones in my department lived in walking distance. Hurricane Frances managed to cancel classes, what with no power and all. But that's the only official one I recall.
