The ones I've seen really fault the casting -- lack of any chemistry between the actors.

The first season of The OC ended with a boy, holding his is-she-dead-of-an-overdose girlfriend, in a live action dramatization of La Pieta. I'm not sure there's any more evil left.

Another problem I kind of have with it is the fact that New Jersey has never looked like San Diego. But because San Diego is prettier, I'm going to forgive them for that.
