Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Careful you. The rain gods are listening. (to ND and ita)

I haven't watched 24 yet tonight but after finally watching last week's I have to ask, why did Jack have to stage a robbery? He couldn't just slash the guy's tires?

Swouncing

I should have been teaching right now, but since the semester is over, I'm not. So I had to post a "look, I'm on vacation! right when I used to teach each week!" post, before going to, um, study.

So I'm making a "vacation!" post. And I'm done.

Take your fingers off it, don't you dare touch it, you know it don't belong to you, to you...

Careful you. The rain gods are listening.

Yeah? Well I have a torrent of swearing for them...

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Hi, Nilly!

Do you know what the best way is to get awake and alert after a long weekend? Having no heat and hot water!

[ETA: And just as I'm about to leave for work, the heat comes on]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It's 6 degrees here. And I have to walk a mile and a half to the subway.

This is not the way I'd ideally like to start my first day back to regular work after two+ weeks worth of vacation weekend, sales conference work, and more vacation. I've had two days to re-acclimate to MA, but sheesh.

On the other paw, my job doesn't suck and my coworkers/bosses will be glad to have me back. So it's just getting through the cold that I have to dread... and I have heavy clothes. I can do this. ::looks fierce::

Timelies!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Timelies!

It's cold. I'm watcing on the news a fire in a highrise apartment a few blocks from me. I can hear the news helicopters flying nearby.

What is it with Chicago and highrise apartment fires? Is it my imagination or are there more of them than there used to be? I know you guys have more highrises than average, but still....

I dunno. Things burn....

Anyway, sounds like the fire is out.

What is even happening?

I don't know how many degrees are outside right now, but tomorrow there will be more than 80.
It's 17 degrees here. Windchill of 2.
It is three degrees here. Fahrenheit. Three. I do not want to know what it is with the wind chill factor.
It's 6 degrees here. And I have to walk a mile and a half to the subway.
Oooh! Maybe it doubled since I checked. Probably not, but I'll pretend it did. Stay warm, Theo.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We've got 5, and strong winds expected. But tomorrow is supposed to go up to the low 20s.
