Timelies!
Not only did I not die in a flaming embers crash, I got a row to myself on both legs of the trip, which was a greatly appreciated luxury, space to stretch out and arrange my junk on the seats around me and cross my legs without intruding on a stranger's personal space.
Unfortunately I pulled a muscle in my back lugging my luggage to the car, so the drive back to Somerville was unnecessarily interesting. So I left the big suitcase in the car in the hopes that I could move it in this AM... which I will do. Real soon now.
Aside from the back, it was a truly splendid vacation, one that I really needed.
Glad to hear you had a great time, and here's hoping your back feels better soon.
Oh, yay. We're in luck.
Last spring, Fox decided not enough people were watching Playing It Straight on free TV. Nine months later, it wants to see how many people are willing to watch the canceled reality series as a pay-per-view download.
All eight episodes of Playing It Straight, including the five unaired installments, will be available for $1.99 a pop, or $9.99 for the whole season, at Fox.com starting Monday.
"This is an experiment," Fox spokesman Scott Grogin said Friday. "We're going to see what the response is. There was a fairly vocal fan base for Playing It Straight. This is simply an opportunity to test the system."
Watch that back, Theo. They can be bitches.
Oh, and the

ita! You should have put a spoiler warning on that link! Now I know how
Playing It Straight
ends. THE HORROR.
Bwahahaha!
Also, the Edwardian era ends.
I'm a spoiling fool.
Timelies all!
Being lazy this morning. I'm still in my pajamas. Soon I will shower and dress, and then head to Fell's Point to spend money at the mystery bookstore.
I am almost done with all the Vorkosigan books, and I just want to start from the beginning. And I want to buy them all. I have Issues.
Heh. I've recently started gobbling these books down, and so I think has meara. Just finished Ethan of Athos, which isn't Miles, but in the same timeline. ita's right though - it was the figuring out what the hell to read and in what order that kept me away for so long.
OK, that show and everything about was vile and despicable. I want this PPV venture to die on the vine.
And yet? The idea of being able to get missed episodes and even an entire season of a show without having to count on a DVD release sometime in the future - doesn't suck. Now I'm all torn and shit.
