Is this the stupidest quote ever, or what: (said by a high university muckety-muck):
"The world series was a moment of eternity.", said Muckety Muck
Um-- WTF? Isn't every moment moment of eternity? I think the sentance is missing an end or something.
Crap, I totally forgot that Huygens was gonna land on Titan last night. Too busy installing OS X 10.3 on my iBook....
It's landed and sending a strong signal. Pictures this afternoon.
It would be cool to see pictures of lakes of liquid methane....
Is it there
right now
?
Or is it there a long time ago, and we're only getting the signal now? How long does it take for a signal to get from Saturn...oh, you know, the thing is I keep thinking of light-years, but Saturn's not
that
far away. But if it were, say, a light-year away, we wouldn't know it had gotten there until a year later, right?
Is this the stupidest quote ever, or what:
Yes. He should've referred to it as an "event that will live in infamy."
The Huygens probe was sending its data to Cassini. Once Cassini is no longer able to receive probe data, Cassini will point its antenna at earth and send us the data.
I guess the search for WMDs in Iraq has finally ended. Apparently, we decided to give up trying to find them.
The Daily Show was great on that point last night (see tag). The White House press secretary was unable to say only September 11th over and over and avoid using any other words or phrases. But just by a small margin.
That quote is great. "If you have to blame someone, why aren't you blaming Saddam Hussein? He's the one who didn't have the WMDs." Stephen Colbert, TDS, on accountability.
Good Luck Hil!
