Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Maria -- now I'm sad I'm not watching L&O.

One-offs are so much better than the arcs, I think.

Oh yeah, maybe that was it. I think I generally like freestanding episodes better overall -- this is part of why I like all the crime shows. Me and the rest of America, I know.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

L&O:

I can't think of any previous indication that Serena was a lesbian. Annoying and wooden, yes. I was happy enough that she was fired, but why throw in the lesbian thing?

Also, for the record, if I'm a juror on some local newsworthy case, I ain't talking to the press. Not my job. watching local news (hopefully, I'll get some stupid one day obvious deal over drugs.) (Not that I think you should wish to shirk your duties.) (I just am laaaazy.)

Oh yeah, sara -- I loved jury duty, but by day three, I was OVER IT.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ginger, ya got me.

Jesse, you didn't miss much. It was possibly the lamest exit from a show in ever.

This is the first time for me ever. And I'm one of those obnoxious people when it comes to civic duty. And yet...I'm whining. And hoping somehow I get elim or come before the judge I managed to see all two time in my two times in court (once for a witness in a domestic violence case, once in traffic court that wasn't my car! ) Bad. Bad. Bad. I'm such a hypocrite. I'd be ok with a few days, but...more than that would screw with work. Even unofficially. B'more has one day-or-one-trial-or-Grand Jury. So .... one day, Or one trial of undetermined length. Or four months.

Had a coworker under a different contract get Grand Jury. 8 hours a day plus cleaning up at work afterhours. Wasn't pretty.

Yeah, a friend of mine was on an asbestos case, and ended up having to work around it for MONTHS. I would not wish that on anyone. Of course, I wouldn't wish mesothelioma on anyone either.

Maria, that sounds exactly in keeping with the rest of her run on the show.

I still don't know my contract's policy. Of course, it is on Lotus Notes, which those of us at this facility don't have access to.

Charming. I figure I'm relatively ok (they handwaved me through the subpeona) but...Four months. I'd be severly bitter if my salary got docked. Would probably end my house dream.

I won't disagree with you on that, Jesse. I didn't think it was possible for her to be any more wooden than she was in her early Angel episodes, but she has proven me wrong. Half a step forward and 2 steps back seems to be her mantra.

edited to free the punctuation. I'm on a roll tonight.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just got this e-mail:

Thank you for resending the pictures.  I do remember seeing them yesterday and I did respond back to you.  Unfortunately, this is not a project that the network will pursue.  I thank you for your interest with In A Fix.  Good Luck with your project!  Thanks for watching……

Happy Days,

Jill Beauregard

Congratulations on your soon-to-be marriage…….

Um. Sorry, wrong number. So, do I ignore, or let Ms. Beauregard know she sent to the wrong adress?

And what is "In A Fix"? Is it a home improvement show?
