Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Lee, I think you just did

Yeah, but she's the nice one, East Coast division, so it's her turn.

Besides, if people don't, maybe she will shake her wee fists at them.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My nephew's wee fists of rage!

(howling laughter is not the response he's going for, but it is really hard to control it.)

My dad showing said nephew a time honored family tradition: removing the paper from the straw by blowing it across the table (as all the adults roll their eyes and cringe but the adult kids remembber him teaching us that with glee!)

Because books.

Happy:

I just made chocolate chip cookie dough. The need to bake the actual cookies seems negligible, because the dough is very happy-making.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

When I went to the grocery store over lunch, a very nice woman let me go ahead of her in line because I only had one thing and she had a bunch of items. Yay nice people!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Happy? Finally getting to eat something, since lunch fell off the agenda today.

OK, hivemind. I need a coffee-maker. Just for me. DF can't stand the stuff, and I hate using the 12 cup machine I have now when I'm the only one drinking it. Suggestions?

How much do you normally consume?

Happy? I'm going home!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

There are tiny coffee makers. I have one. It makes max 4 cups, which is 2 mugs worth.

I bought it at one of those gigaplex stores like Linens & Things, 2-3 years ago. It takes #2 filters.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hate using the 12 cup machine I have now when I'm the only one drinking it.

Have you considered a french press? I have one for my intermittent coffee. Bitches speak well of coffee pod systems, but I think that means you can only brew coffee someone else has podded.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You are very easy to please.

Deb is deeply and passionately in love with her one-cup making machine. You should check with her.
