I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

It's sad because it's true.....

oh Allyson, that reminds me. I got this big long message for some guy on my cell phone. It was all about a job and running some tests and work to do. I called the number back and it was the main switchboard for a big national company with offices in muliple cities. We, teh operator and I, eventually figured out who the call was from (a lady in Denver). I called her, she was there and I proceeded to explain the situation. Her response was "well, who IS this?" I paused and said, "Ma'm, I am a person in New York doing you a favor." we got it resolved.

ok - my favorite thing of the day? I can renew library books online even if they are overdue. So I still owe a fine, but I don't keep getting charged the fine for the days forward. awesome!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I could see her suing the city for leaving out MOVEABLE barricades. I mean, if they are moveable, they are meant to be moved, right?

I had a call just yesterday from someone who, if I understood him correctly, was telling me that the barricades that a contractor put up around a big hole in the street had been moved over the weekend by passersby, and people were falling into the hole and they weren't gonna sue us yet but clearly the contractor hadn't put the barricades up right.

That was pretty incredibly nice, Allyson.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Huh. They neglected to tell me that my shoes had shipped until after they were delivered. Maybe I can get home and get them from my doorman before it starts snowing too hard.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

That's the thing. If she drove into the water with another adult who wound up dead, no one would think twice about charging her with something.

Except that another adult has a choice about whether or not to go with the moron. Her children don't. If she had forcibly taken the adult with her, you can bet she'd be charged.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I was going to say, eternity in Hell taking lifeguard lessons.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh lord. I have a book out that is ridiculously overdue, and I can't renew it because there's a current hold on it. I HAVE BECOME THAT PERSON. You know the one.

OK, you know what? All of my planning issues for the day are now resolved. I was trying to figure out what to eat and when, since I don't want to eat the food in my house, have no cash, and need to be in Brooklyn at 6. I will stop in Manhattan to return this damn library book, get cash, and eat. It is a perfect plan.

Because books.

Except that another adult has a choice about whether or not to go with the moron. Her children don't.

True. But to me that means, she should definitely be charged at least with reckless endangerment.
