"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

My niece Laney went through a huge cell phone phase. One time, she grabbed mine, held it up and said "Hello? HeLOOO?" and she kept looking up and moving her other arm around. We couldn't figure it out until we got that she'd learned it from Mom and was checking her makeup and driving with her other hand.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's impossible not to read stuff. I'm always reading stuff on my boss's desk when I'm waiting for him. This is why it pays to be able to read upside down.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Just one small step on the way to ... MILE HIGH CLUB.

oh, no. Not this guy. If he'd been cute, I would have offered earlier

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I have this problem - if there is reading material anywhere near me I have to read it. I can't help reading other people's papers on the subway. I try not to. It's an illness.

Yeah, that's me, too, although I've managed to be pretty good about not reading other people's laptops. Although that temptation most often happens when I'm a on a plane, so I'll have my own book to read anyway.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

And if you do it right the cops come.

This is true of so many things. As is the reverse.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's a shame that reading on a plane or train makes me nauseous, because I'd love to take along books like The Dreyfuss Affair or Image of the Beast for when people ask me what it's about.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

UnFuckingBelievable.

My boss in charge of attorney recruiting took off for a week vacation in Hawaii without detailing me on ANY of the lateral hires which were being decided or the interviews scheduled this week. I've got SIX (6!) different candidates who I have no information about, but were promised decisions, or second interviews, or have interviews scheduled tomorrow that were not set up.

WTF? How can you possibly flake out on so many major decisions which will obviously need attention in her absence? And I saw her multiple times last week and she didn't mention (a) she was going to be gone and (b) what I would need to take care of.

And our big boss was surprised that she was going on vacation too.

My eyes are blinking almost in unison and I can almost smile! I'm going to the ENT next week, the one that did my sinus surgery, and he's going to check out my ear and see if I need to go for a hearing test. Hopefully when I'm there, I can get him to look up my nose.

Oh Megan! Your face is way too cute to be having so much dysfunction going on behind it. Wishing you all kinds of healing and health and No More Problems.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Hec! I can confirm that your book is on the shelf at Kim's Video.

Right on! I love Kim's Video. I'm chuffed that I am in Quimby's and Kim's.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Nervous breakdown?
