What is even happening?

I worked for six weeks for John Cafferty's manager, answering phones and typing up contracts. He's the guy who actually sang Eddie, and his band was the Cruisers -- including the black guy who played sax. They were a popular bar band around the Boston/Providence area in the early 80s, when they were known as Buster Brown.
Consuela, John Cafferty's band was the Beaver Brown Band?
(I blame the 'Buster Brown' thing on all the shameless shoe pimping in this thread. Shoe hoydens, every one of ya.)

I remember listening to friends argue that Springsteen really did the Eddie and the Cruisers soundtrack, and then being truly shocked that Cafferty and Beaver Brown actually existed.

It's ironic that Cafferty figured the Eddie movies were his ticket, but he never took off. I wonder what happened to them since...

They're now available for your corporate event. *sigh* [link]

Hello, everyone.

Ooops, sorry for the delayed X post, DX. I started it, and got distracted by Chris, who'd just woken up.

Huh. I think I like Modest Mouse.

I think I would have liked them better if the lead singer didn't make such weird faces when he's singing.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I remember listening to friends argue that Springsteen really did the Eddie and the Cruisers soundtrack, and then being truly shocked that Cafferty and Beaver Brown actually existed.

Yeah, To say that Springsteen influenced Cafferty would be putting it mildly. Cafferty fashioned himself as the RI seashore version of the Boss. I seem to remember they were friends.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You people need to just stop it with the boots. I'm fairly immune to buying online since I'm picky about fit, but I think I'm going to have to head to Nordstroms on my lunch today.

ETA:

No, wait! I get to meet Rio on my lunch today. You may all commence with the jealousy now.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I can't wait for the episode of Law and Order where McCoy's conviction gets overturned because it was based on a TV episode that never existed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hate Aerosoles because pretty much all of their eight and a half shoes fit me, if the style is workable. Bastards.

You know, I read Pare as Praed, since this Cruiser thing means nothing to me. Oh, Michael. Heart-rendingly beautiful. But it didn't last much past RoS -- he was looking strange by Dynasty. And by strange, I mean ... normal.

Another fire in downtown Chicago. I'm beginning to think it's some sort of weird historical pathology.

Aaand then there are the "teenagers" on WAT. Um, sure.

Christ, that black chick looks older than I am. The others look within normal TV-teen realm, but I thought the black actress was playing a teacher. Weird.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Such is the benefit of a CD.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Timelies!

I am still so not used to this West Coast time thing. Some of it is staying inside for so long, some of it is all the rain and gloom.

Am getting OUT of the hotel today. t Resolve Face
