Oh, we had a book of (I think) a maori creation myth that was just gorgeous.
Wonder what happened to the lovely Beatrix Potter books I remember as being old fashioned.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Ancient news (from last week) from the futoncritic:
INTO THE WEST (TNT) - Sean Astin ("Jeremiah"), Beau Bridges ("10.5"), Gary Busey ("I'm With Busey"), Jessica Capshaw ("The Practice"), Tyler Christopher ("All My Children"), Rachael Leigh Cook ("She's All That"), Balthazar Getty ("Traffic"), Daniel Gillies ("Spider-Man 2"), Lance Henriksen ("Millennium"), Emily Holmes ("Taken"), Christian Kane ("Angel"), Zahn McClarnon ("Momentum") and Will Patton ("The Agency") have been revealed as additional cast members on Steven Spielberg's epic 12-hour mini-series. The project, currently in production, is set to premiere during the summer of 2005.
Allyson, Owen will stop crying to stare and smile at me when I sing, "Lalalalalala".
And my brain just goes right to Minnie Ripperton.
Sean Astin ("Jeremiah")
Yeah, because that's what people know him from. Did anyone else flip from The Good Son (I think that's what it is) to Rudy on TV the other day? I was all "Home Alone and Frodo! Samwise Gamgee!" Like a dork.
And my brain just goes right to Minnie Ripperton.
Mine's stuck on the Delfonics.
What's wrong with Tommy John?
Nothing, once he had the Tommy John surgery. It's just that he's wasn't quite as good a pitcher as Bert Blyleven (or Jack Morris, IMO).
I've got the Fugees, or someone.
I've been seeing ads for Flipper with a very young Elijah Wood on some channel or other. Aside from broader shoulders and looking like he might shave occasionally, he hasn't changed that much over the years.
Also, spam sender name of the day: Sneeringly E. Wrongful
And my brain just goes right to Minnie Ripperton.
And ND sends me to John Stamos' older brother and exploding cattle.
Has anyone mentioned MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS? It's a Boston classic. I also remember being hugely fond of a book called NORMAN THE DOORMAN (and I may have the Norman part wrong) about a mouse living in a museum who creates a mouse museum out of mousetraps.
Mmmm....Make Way for Ducklings.... Lack! Mack! Nack! Pack!
Teena Marie! Not the Fugees! Turns out, it's not that helpful to google "ooh la la la."
