I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oh, good. Thanks, Lee. I shouldn't worry -- they'll get champagne in the a.m. (well, barely -- 11ish) and that should be tasty enough for anyone.

Heh. ETA: This quote popped up when I made this post.

I could squeeze you until you popped like warm champagne, and you'd beg me to hurt you just a little bit more.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I got out of work early, and my parents aren't home. I feel I should make the most of it, but may instead nap.

Which would be mosting...

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

one need more than oj and champagne for mimosas?

I don't know what those hoity-toity fancy mimosas you found online were, but the original and best (ONLY) recipe remains champagne + OJ. Be thou not afraid.

I braved target and got myself a snuggly soft bathrobe (faux cashmere)

Well thank goodness you didn't decide you wanted a bathrobe made out of the real Cashmere. She probably wouldn't have been too happy about that, and she'd likely not be the only one complaining, either.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay for early work getting out, ita. Go nap, choose nap.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Greetings!

I will sit in the "not doing anything exciting for New Year's" corner. I've decided I needed a quiet New Year's this year to horde up energy for next year's New Year's...in Vegas, bay-bee!

Having a quiet dinner with my family tonight (oops...make that "am late for quiet dinner with family") and then plan to just chill out, do some grading (because I have done none...it's very sad and a little scary), do some chatting, do some ball-dropping champagne sipping, and then do some sleeping.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Mmm. I'm still full from brunch as well. And Frances was even moderately well-behaved. No tears, minimal mess at the table, but there was some wandering around the restaurant.

I've promised my DH that I'd make banana bread if he cleaned the moldy closet. (I feel kind of guilty letting Allergy Boy clean the mold, but I'm also skeevy about massive mold exposure while pregnant.) I should really get started.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I was thinking about making brownies, myself. I may even go all out and make ginger macadamia brownies.

Burrell, we still on for the corpses on Monday?

Right. I'm not napping yet. Just as soon as I finish this cold tortellini, and my faux mango bellini (ginger ale).

I'd love to go to the exhibit, ita. Plus I realized that it'd be perfect because I could drop off Frances at daycare right on campus.

Then the timing is all up to you, mamacita -- whatever's convenient for you.
