Going out tonight doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I'm not being a curmudgeon; I just get irritated at the New Year's Eve implications of THIS WILL BE THE FUNNEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR OMG WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO PARTY YOUR ASS OFF?!?!

I know! It's ridiculous, let me set my own party times! Having said that, I am getting together with a few close friends today; while Steph L. puts the hummus away we're going to break it out! After making it.

Why the cancellation?

Mostly, just too worn out and feeling like I am getting sick. Also, this way I get to drink all the oj and champagne I bought myself.

Steph's plans are pretty much mine, at this point, except I may not do the laundry.

oooo.. some of the new tools for caulking make it easy to do a neat job. next up...

a run to home depot and/or Lowes for more home stuff. and a stop at Trader Joe's for stuff to bring to a NYE party. Same one we went to last year. the same place where people danced on the coffe barand in the windows. and there was the mooning of the christmas tree.

My parent's party. I am sharing in the hosting duty, but this party will be almost entirely devoid of fun for me, as there will only be my parent's friends here, and they are all their age, and none of them my age.

Which is also a confession that yes, I am in San Francisco at the moment, but I did not tell any of my beloved SFistas, as I have had, and will have no time to see any of them. Feh.

But yes, I will be "partying" with people who I share almost nothing in common with, and there will be no chance at all of finding that One True Love, or even a hot kiss at midnight. Not that any of that really bothers me, I just wish I had cooler and hotter people to party with.

I was gonna hang out at home tonight but my sister's having dinner and people over, so I'll probably do that. She won't take "I'd rather watch the RotK EE instead" as a legitimate excuse.

But, you know, the food will be good. So there's that. I may bring my Firefly dvds and see if I can convert someone...
