"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

And still, more with it than my parents, especially my father.

My mother and father are funkless.

Thank god.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Broadway marquees are dimming their lights for one minute tonight in homage to Jerry Orbach.

My father likes to listen to the Kingston Trio and Willie Nelson. He has no funk. My mother prefers Barbra Streisand and show tunes, but liked the laid-back mix CD of Poi Dog Pondering I burned for her, so she has some potential for smooth-jazz-like funk.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's my husband's contention that S&G were destroyed mainly for being inhospitable to strangers.

This is the interpretation I learned in Hebrew school.

Always Anti-fascist!

My mom is pretty funky for a mom. She makes up for it though by treating google like my magic talent.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My parents have no funk, but a fair amount of pop culture awareness (see earlier reference to LL Cool J). Most of it is 10 years out of date, but they try.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My mother and father are funkless.

Thank god.

Amen. Happily, my parents are the one set of liberal socially-conscious democrats in the family, yet were born too soon to have joined the flower children and done anything remotely scandalous before old fogey-tude set in. It's the best of both worlds!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The visit with my parents(who are very much funk-less) was pretty good, although I was quite happy to go back home by the end.(That's normal for a visit of longer than 36 hours) My Adorable Nephew(who is referred to as "the prince" by my mom) is still quite adorable and rambunctous.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Matt'd parents are my mother. Or something.

Sophia, did you try the "test" and "reset" buttons that DX mentioned, yesterday. That happened to us once at old house. And whatever triggered it didn't trip the button on the outlet, or the switch on the Circuit Breaker board.

I cannot find any of these buttons. Of course, this leads me to believe that my apartment is not up to code...

An electrician is supposedly coming tomorrow, but my landlords will meet him, so I don't have to be here. Apparantly when her father and husband were trying to fix it they almost electrocuted themselves and caused giant blue flames.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

They have no funk. My mother is now trying to sing Petula Clark. She's never heard Brickhouse. George Clinton means nothing to her.

Having just met your parents, this is even funnier.

My mom had very eclectic taste in music, from Carmina Burana to Peter Gabriel. Whereas my dad liked jazz almost exclusively.
